Avri Davis, daughter of Willie and Veronica Davis, is a junior at Summit High School and a member of the girls volleyball team. She plays the position of middle blocker.
Among other accomplishments, she has had 138 kills in 21 matches, 21 ace’s and 29 blocks.
Davis got started playing volleyball in an interesting way. She played basketball previously and wanted to use volleyball as a way to gain more upper body strength. As it turned out, she ended up liking volleyball a lot more than she planned.
When asked what motivates her to compete and train, she said she wants to be better than the year before. Someone that she looks to for inspiration and guidance is Serena Williams. She is inspired by her determination and talent.
“She is amazing at her sport and I want to be as good at my sport as she is at hers,” Davis said.
After graduation, Davis will be attending Western Kentucky University, where she is officially committed.
