Ryan Simoneaux, son of Lisa and Will Simoneaux, is a Summit High School freshman and a member of the golf team.
His best highlight so far was shooting 3- over at Greystone Golf Club.
Simoneaux began playing golf due to his brother’s hard work at a local golf course. He said that because his brother worked there, the entire family was given free access to the course and he decided to try it out.
He was very honest with his answer when asked what drives him to train and compete: money and scholarships. It’s as simple as that. He hopes that he will get a scholarship to play in college.
His role model is Smylie Kaufman, an LSU golfer that went professional. He hopes that one day he can achieve that goal.
Summit High School Golf Coach, Paul Reding said, “Ryan Simoneaux is a freshman with lots of skills. He hits long and has a great short game, too. [He] has a great attitude and will have a great high school career. He also contributes to our new leadership on the team. He will be one to watch over the next few years.”
Although he is only a freshman, Simoneaux knows that he wants to go to a college that offers him a scholarship for golf. He said, “if the PGA doesn’t work out, I want to be a physical therapist.”
