Emma Nieman, daughter of Cynthia Lindsey and Steve Nieman, is a junior at Summit High School and a member of the girls soccer team.
Nieman has been playing soccer since she was four years old. She said that since then, it has become one of the biggest parts of her life.
Of the regular season games this year, so far Summit has scored nine goals. Of those nine, Nieman has assisted three and scored two of her own.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete, she said, “I am naturally a very competitive person, so I strive to be the best player I can possibly be in every situation.” She added, “I may not be the best, but I refuse to ever be just average.”
Summit High School girls soccer coach, Clay Watson said of Nieman, “Emma is a junior midfielder who leads our team in assists so far this season and is our second leading goal scorer… Emma is a great student with a high work ethic on the field and embodies everything great about Summit Soccer.”
Her role model is her mother, Cynthia. She looks up to her for her work ethic as a business owner, her athleticism and as a mom.
“This woman exceeds all standards. Without her love and sacrifices I would be lost.”
As far as the future, Nieman is taking an open and honest approach. She said that her future has numerous possibilities and that she is open to them all.
