BAKSETBALL: Teams play over Thanksgiving week

A host of Williamson County teams got in a little hoops action over the Thanksgiving week as the season continues its first few weeks of play. Here are select scores.

Brentwood boys split weekend tournament 

Friday, the Brentwood Bruins boys team got a hard-fought tournament win over West Creek, 72-68.

Jack Thurman led all scorers with 25 on the day, while Cole Massey pitched in with 14. Preston Moore had 11.

The team did take its first season loss to Lebanon Saturday, though, 53-49.

They’ll take on Nolensville Tuesday night.

GCA boys got pre-Turkey Day wins 

The Grace Academy Christian Lions boys team went into the break in style, with a win on the road against Hickman County.

Mason McKnatt continued his strong start with 35 points in the 73-68 victory. Cole Scott had 23, and Grant Solomon had 15.

For the girls, they were close, but couldn’t quite get the win, 56-49.

Anna Smith had 13 in the loss, with Charlie Baker not too far behind with 12. Audrey Sanders had 11.

Franklin Lady Rebels get commanding win 

The Franklin Lady Rebels got a big 64-17 win over West Creek Friday, led by Kate O’Neil’s double-double (20 points, 14 rebounds).

Jillian King had 15, and Sydney Ryan had 14.

Brentwood Academy girls lose tough contest 

BA’s Lady Eagles couldn’t quite get past Stewarts Creek Saturday, 52-49.

Avery Kovick had 14 points in the loss, while Maggie Brown had 11.
