BASKETBALL: Brentwood continues dominant start, FRA girls get big win

Here’s a roundup of select scores from Monday night’s local hoops action. 

Brentwood boys continue strong start 

Jack Thurman’s 15 points led the Brentwood Bruins to another early win over Overton Monday, 66-24.

Cole Massey pitched in with 14 points in the victory, followed by John Windley’s 13.

At 3-0, the team will look to continue its win streak headed into a tournament this weekend.

FRA ladies blast Columbia Academy 

The Franklin Road Academy Lady Panthers powered past Columbia Academy Monday, 70-18.

Zharia Hutchinson topped the team with 20 points, with Ryan Pierce not too far behind with 19. Iris Heldman had 18.

Franklin ladies top Pearl Cohn 

The Franklin Lady Rebels earned a 69-19 win over Pearl Cohn Monday, led by Sydney Ryan’s 21 points.

Kate O’Neil had 19 in the win, and Jillian King had 16.

Grace Christian Academy falls Friendship Christian 

GCA couldn’t get either team past hosting Friendship Christian Monday.

The Lions lost a close one, 65-51, with Mason McKnatt leading the team with 16 points. Cole Scott wasn’t too far behind with 14.

The Lady Lions were defeated 45-26. Anna Smith had 9 for the team in the loss, with Audrey Sanders close with 8.
