BrentWord Communications sets school board candidate forum


BrentWord Communications, parent of four online daily newspapers across Williamson County, will host a July 28 forum for candidates running for the County Schools Board of Education.

BrentWord Communications, parent of four online daily newspapers across Williamson County, will host a July 28 forum for candidates running for the County Schools Board of Education.

The event will be at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Williamson County Administrative Complex, located at 1320 West Main Street in Franklin. BrentWord Communications publishes daily online newspapers in Brentwood, Franklin, Nolensville, and Spring Hill.

Questions will be on issues that relate to Williamson County Schools. Former State Rep. Mike Williams will serve as moderator. Only even-numbered district seats are on the Aug. 7 ballot in this year’s school election.

There are a total of 11 candidates, four contested races and only three incumbents in the six races:

  • District 2: Daniel Cash, Melody Morris, Patsy Writesman
  • District 4: Paul Bartholomew
  • District 6: Jay Galbreath
  • District 8: incumbent Pat Anderson, Candace Emerson
  • District 10: Beth Burgos, incumbent Eric Welch
  • District 12: Susan Curlee, incumbent Vicki Vogt

Morris, Writesman, Galbreath, Burgos and Welch have confirmed they will attend.
