Plans to construct a Chili’s Grill & Bar restaurant in the Crossings shopping district have been submitted to the city of Spring Hill, and will be discussed Monday by the city’s Planning Commission during their regular work session meeting at City Hall.

At a proposed 5,125 square feet, the restaurant is planned to be constructed at 2000 Crossing Circle, where the now-closed O’Charley’s restaurant currently sits. The plans call for the existing building to be demolished — the Chili’s will be constructed on the site.

The submitted documents say the restaurant will sit 194 people and be constructed from a mix of brick, stucco, stone and hardiboard. The expected date the restaurant will be open for business is currently unknown.

Founded in Dallas, Texas in 1975, Chili’s has over 1,606 locations worldwide, and is one of the most successful restaurant chains today, helping to bring its parent company Brinker International nearly $3 billion in revenue in 2015. Each year, the chain sells more than 60 million pounds of fajita meat, and more than 135,000 gallons — or, roughly 13 swimming pools — worth of margaritas.
