The Community Child Care Center in Williamson County will host its 4th annual volleyball tournament on July 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Designed as a fundraiser, the tournament helps the children of the center with tuition for school, as well as helping to provide supplies for the center.
The whole purpose of the tournament is to raise money for the center, said Kim Whelan, center treasurer.
As the only non-profit of its kind in Williamson County, the center is the only shelter with staff that has been around for more than two decades. The typical rate at most shelters is around $300 a week, but at the Community Child Care Center it is only $145 per week. The center also offers discounts to parents if they are full time or part time students, and is open to anyone says, Whelan.
The volleyball tournament hosts 10 co-ed teams of four players with a $100 entry fee.
We just hang out from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Whelan said. Its just a really fun event thats family friendly.
The tournament is sponsored by businesses like Chick-Fil-A and Enterprise Rent a Car with more opportunities still available for sponsorship.
Registration for teams interested in playing is open until July 24, and sponsorship deals are available until July 18. For more information go to www.childcarefranklin.org.
