Starting Monday Critz Lane in Thompson’s Station will be closed for about a month due to construction.
The project will make the road connect with Highway 31 at a right angle instead of its current sharp angle.
Thompson’s Station Town Administrator Joe Cosentini said the project is important because it will make the intersection safer.
The stoplights for the new intersection have been installed, and construction crews are already working on the road. Large barricades are blocking the road and detour signs direct drivers how to get around the closure.
People living in the Canterbury Subdivision will have to make a long detour to Lewisburg Pike to get to Interstate 840, but both entrances to the subdivision will remain open.
