Deputy recognized for saving the life of a jail inmate

A Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy has been honored for saving the life of a jail inmate who was suffering from a medical emergency.

Sgt. Hayden Smith was named Deputy of the Month for February. Smith and his favorite charity were honored with an award from Toyota of Cool Springs.

Sgt. Smith is assigned to the Detention Division, which is responsible for the operation of the Williamson County jail. He has worked for the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office for three years.

Toyota of Cool Springs General Sales Manager Kris Krabill presented a plaque to Smith and Toyota of Cool Springs will donate a check for $150 to Al Menah Shrine Temple in Nashville in his honor.

Each month Toyota of Cool Springs will honor a WCSO deputy and a charity.
