A portion of Duplex Road, from Main Street to Miles Johnson Parkway, will reopen this Friday, whereas Monday will see the closure of the south portion of Miles Johnson Parkway.
Duplex Road was closed on July 9 to replace a bridge, and will be meeting its completion date of Oct. 12.
Miles Johnson Parkway will be closed the following Monday from Old Kedron Road to Duplex Road for construction, all relating to the Duplex Road expansion project which still has an estimated completion date of April 2020.
The closest detour for Miles Johnson Parkway for drivers coming from both north and south would be Hughs Street, which runs parallel to Miles Johnson Parkway to the west. High traffic hours might see Main Street as a better detour to circumvent the road closure.
While discussions have dated back to 2006, the $28 million Duplex Road widening project really began in late 2017 once the city opened the project up to be bid on by construction companies.
