Residence: Thompson’s Station

Family: Wife Lorraine and three children

SHHP: Why are you running?

Daniel Cash: I believe we’re living in a rapidly changing world that needs to be monitored for our children and our children’s children. I believe I am a leader that can help monitor those changes.

What are the most important issues in education relevant to Williamson County Schools?

I support rezoning that prospers our families and our communities. I support keeping the control of our educational system where it belongs – in the hands of the people of Tennessee.

I support empowering our parents to take control of their children’s education.

I support ensuring our textbooks are not only accurate, but also based solidly on our American values.

And plainly put, I do not support Common Core.

How can you address those issues?

So many times we have committees get together with no results due to no one wanting to make a decision, which is sometimes hard to make and isn’t always popular. But, by listening to the parent’s voice, whom only want the best for their children, and the teacher’s, whom work with the children hands-on each day, I feel I could, as a member of the board, be the voice of those I represent in a humble manner, using the team-working skills I acquired during my career between management and union issues.

Why should people vote for you?

I pledge to serve as [the people’s] voice for District 2 Williamson County School Board. I will be a voice that echoes [the people’s] concerns; a voice that matters, a voice of reason.
