Entrepreneurial Leadership director comes to BGA with education, business credentials

Battle Ground Academy (BGA) has named Hallie Heiter as Director of the school’s Entrepreneurial Leadership (EL) program, a unique, four-year specialty program that offers electives in economics, business, speech, civics and other related disciplines.

“We are thrilled to have Hallie at the helm of our Entrepreneurial Leadership program,” Will Kesler, BGA Head of School, said in announcing Heiter’s appointment. “She brings with her tremendous passion for entrepreneurship and an incredibly diverse background in the private sector as well as independent schools.

“During our process, her vision for the program and the impact it can have at school as well as in the
broader community was clear and compelling.”

Heiter joins BGA from Jackson Preparatory School in Jackson, Mississippi.

During her career, she has also worked in management positions with Vanguard, The Episcopal Chaplaincy at Harvard University and the Alliance Defense Fund. She also served as a Harvard University Teaching Fellow in 2008, 2015 and 2016. She is a graduate of Colgate University with a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.

“I am delighted to join the BGA family,” Heiter said. “The EL Program is an incredible offering for BGA students, providing them valuable skills and a one-of-a-kind experience to stand out and become leaders in a competitive world. I am eager to bring my own business and educational experiences to add value to the program.”

The Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at BGA equips students with skills and mindsets to creatively solve real-world problems through hands-on active learning. Students engage with methods such as Design Thinking, Lean Launchpad, and a host of resources used by top institutions like Stanford University. To graduate with an EL distinction, a student must complete the four-year program and a senior capstone project.

Established in 1889, Battle Ground Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory school for grades kindergarten through 12th grade. More information on the school can be found at
