Below are a handful of recaps of the week’s Williamson County football games.
Goodpasture at CPA
The undefeated Christ Presbyterian Academy Lions (9-0) cruised to a 54-7 victory over region foe Goodpasture Christian School Friday night.
The Lions jumped out to a 21-7 lead over Goodpasture in the first quarter of Friday night’s contest. Wide receiver Noah Henderson took the opening kickoff back for touchdown to start the scoring for the Lions.
Senior running back/linebacker Kane Patterson kept it going. The Clemson commit and 2018 US Army All-American game participant ran for two of the team’s touchdowns in the opening frame. The Lions never looked back.
After a bye week, the undefeated Lions will host Franklin Road Academy in a tough Division-II matchup on Oct. 26.
Dickson Co. at Independence
The Independence Eagles (4-4) pitched a shutout on Homecoming, defeating the Dickson County Cougars 42-0.
Quarterback Ethan Cash found wideouts Isaiah Collier and T.J. Sheffield and running back Tyrus Jackson for scores on the night.
Senior QB Nathan Cisco, a University of Idaho commit also found Sheffield for a score in the first quarter give the Eagles a 28-0 lead after the first frame.
Sheffield, a Purdue University commit, accounted for three scores on the night, while Jackson found the end zone twice for the Eagles.
All of Independence’s scores came in the first half, and the second half was played under a running clock.
The Eagles look to move above .500 when they host Memphis East next Thursday during Fall Break before a pivotal matchup with playoff implications against Ravenwood High School to close out the regular season.
Marshall Co. at Spring Hill
The Spring Hill Raiders (0-8) fell to Marshall County 28-7, after being down only 14-7 in the fourth quarter Friday night.
The Raiders will look to bounce back next week when they travel to Franklin High School for the Thursday matchup with the Rebels.
