A WillCo standout and Lipscomb starter will be heading elsewhere to conclude his college basketball career.
Franklin Road Academy alum Kenny Cooper announced on Twitter Monday of his intent to enter the NCAA’s transfer portal for his senior season.
“These last three years have been amazing,” Cooper said in his farewell message on social media, listing all the accomplishments he and his team accomplished under now-Belmont coach Casey Alexander.
“With that being said, I have decided through a lot of thought and prayer that I will be putting my name on the transfer list and exploring other institutions.”
Cooper could opt to head down the boulevard to join his old coach Alexander and the Belmont Bruins.
The Lipscomb Bisons have now lost many of their recent Williamson County ties; Brentwood Academy alum Alexander to Belmont and senior county standouts Garrison Mathews (Franklin), Rob Marberry (FRA) and Nate Moran (BGA) to graduation. The team also loses senior Eli Pepper and reserve Matt Rose.
Cooper averaged 9.8 points for the Bisons last season in about 26.6 average minutes of game play.
