On Monday, Oct. 8, the Gordon Jewish Community Center will host a debate between Justin Kanew, a Democratic candidate running for U.S. House District 7, and Sen. Jack Johnson, a Republican incumbent running for state House District 23 in Franklin.

Kanew’s Republican opponent in the race is Sen. Mark Green, who currently represents a district in Clarksville in the state house.

Meanwhile, Johnson’s opponent in his race is Democrat Kristen Grimm, a first time political candidate whose focus is healthcare and education.

In a letter last month, Williamson County Democratic Chair Holly McCall asked the county Republicans to co-host a debate between the two candidates.

Through Williamson County Republican Chair Debbie Deaver, Green declined to participate.

The event will take place on Monday, October 8, beginning at 7 p.m.

The Gordon Jewish Community Center is located at 801 Percy Warner Blvd., Nashville, TN 37205.
