Gusts of wind and a slow-moving front midweek will give way to clear skies and perfect spring weather for the Easter weekend, according to the latest weather forecast from the National Weather Service.

Though February was the third-rainiest on record for the Nashville area, this March has been below the 3.25 inch normal, with 2.75 inches measured at the Nashville International Airport.

Aside from that location, meteorologist Scott Unger said the rest of Middle Tennessee has likely experienced above-normal rain this month.

The rain for this week can be expected beginning early Wednesday morning.

“Through Wednesday and Thursday, that front will drip through,” Unger said.

Two- to four-inches of rain is expected, with heavier amounts further south toward the Alabama border. With two inches, Unger said he isn’t worried, but inching towards three and four could be enough for flooding.

But by Friday, the rain should subside and the sun should shine through for a weekend of mid-sixties temps.
