Home reality stars, designers, and product vendors fill Nashville Home + Remodeling Expo

Spring Hill’s DIY Network reality show stars the Pool Kings are among the featured speakers at Nashville Home + Remodeling Expo, which features knowledgeable experts, first-to-market products and reliable services in a face-to-face environment at Music City Center.

Brought to Music City by Marketplace Events, the three-day event also features TLC’s Vern Yip, Nashville Flipped’s Troy Dean Shafer, Habitat for Humanity, a Tiny House Village and more.

The expo opened at 10 a.m. Friday, and continues until 9 p.m., is open again
10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, and again 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 11.

Music City Center is in downtown Nashville at 201 Fifth Ave. South.

• Vern Yip will be on hand Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9 and 10. Yip is best known for his four seasons on Trading Spaces and his 10-year stint as one of HGTV’s most recognizable designers. His past HGTV projects include four seasons of his own show, Deserving Design with Vern Yip, two seasons as host and designer of Urban Oasis, eight seasons on Design Star and several seasons on Bang for Your Buck, where he served as the show’s host and design expert. Now, he runs his own design company in Atlanta, Vern Yip Designs and is filming an all-new season of Trading Spaces, premiering in April.
• The Pool Kings will be at the expo on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9, 10 and 11. This creative, dynamic duo whose headquarters is on Duplex Road in Spring Hill is best known for their weekly appearance on DIY Network’s hit show, Pool Kings, where they design backyard getaways and over-the-top luxury pools. After a successful first season of the show, Kyle Peek and his son Justin Peek are currently shooting season two, which will premiere in May 2018.
• Troy Dean Shafer also will apper Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9, 10 and 11. Shafer is a Nashville-based contractor who, in addition to salvaging dozens of historic homes in the area, hosts Nashville Flipped on DIY Network. His attention to detail, skill of tastefully mixing old with new, quality control, and unparalleled service have made him one of Nashville’s most sought-after contractors, as well as one of DIY’s rising stars. You can find him at the show every day in booth #506.

• Habitat for Humanity is the show’s 2018 non-profit partner. Representatives will be on hand Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9, 10 and 11. Not only will the show educate visitors on the mission and purpose of Habitat for Humanity, it will also showcase the unique finds of Habitat’s ReStores, which are home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, appliances and home accessories at a fraction of the retail price. Habitat’s
large exhibit space at the show will allow attendees to learn about volunteer
opportunities, engage with Habitat members and shop ReStore items.

• Marcelle Guilbeau also will be present for the run of the show. Guilbeau, creates soulful designs that stir the senses, creating livable spaces that redefine luxury. Her award-winning designs have appeared in Domino, Curbed, NFocus, StyleBlueprint, Apartment Therapy and DesignSponge. Guilbeau will discuss What’s Your Soul Style? The Key to Creating a Soulful Home.”
