As we get our Williamson County basketball season started, here are a few recaps of games held so far this week.
Brentwood Academy gets early wins for both teams, Centennial boys, FRA girls take early losses
The Brentwood Academy Eagles and Lady Eagles both got off to strong starts on the year Tuesday.
The Eagles edged out Centennial in a close one, 65-61.
Randy Brady led the team with 23 points on the night, going 11 for 17 from the charity stripe. Marcus Fitzgerald wasn’t too far behind with 15 points. Tre Carlton led Centennial with 17 points.
The Lady Eagles toppled FRA 73-46, with Maggie Brown and Blair Schoenwald leading the team in scoring with 16 and 14 points a piece. Zaharia Hutchinson and Iris Heldman both had 13 for FRA.
Grace Christian Academy boys drop effort to Hume-Fogg, girls get victory
Despite a 29-point effort for Mason McKnatt, the GCA Lions couldn’t ride a strong start to an eventual win over Hume-Fogg, losing 64-48 Tuesday.
The Lady Lions, however, got a 49-28 win over Hume-Fogg Tuesday, with Anna Smith leading team with 17 points.
Currey Ingram Academy gets best of Benton Hall
Currey Ingram started the year on the right note Tuesday with a 40-13 victory over Benton Hall.
Jack Parrillo had a team-leading 10 points on the night, while Truman Christie-Mizell had nine and Dominic Briggs had 8.
