Independence junior baseball phenom Robert Hassell will be playing a game at Wrigley Field this month.
Now, it won’t be with the Eagles, but with some of the best high school baseball players in the country.
Hassell has been chosen to join the roster for the 2019 Under Armour All-America Game, with the first pitch set for the Chicago Cubs’ historic venue on July 22 at 2:00 p.m.
The game will be telecast on MLB Network.
The Vanderbilt commit continues to rake in accolades.
He was named to the ABCA/Rawlings HS All-American Team along with Summit’s Chris McElvain and earned the 2019 Gatorade Tennessee Baseball Player of the Year. He also earned the county’s Baseball Player of the Year honor and was a Mr. Baseball finalist.
He was also named the Home Page’s 2019 Male Athlete of the Year for Independence HS.
