K9 officers bring home awards in Police Canine Association competition

WILLIAMSON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Williamson County Sheriff’s Office K9 teams brought home 18 awards, including seven 1st place trophies, after competing in the United States Police Canine Association Region 13 certification trials in Franklin last week.

  • Deputy Mike Grandy and K9 Nico:  five awards including 1st place overall with the highest combined scores from all events.
  •  Deputy Elijah Kelley and K9 Jenks:  four awards including the Jimmy D Memorial Award and 2nd place overall.
  • Deputy Shaun Stein and K9 Onyx:  four awards including 3rd place overall.
  • Deputy Chuck Castleberry and K9 Ammo:  three awards, including a 1st place award for total search.
  • Sgt. Keith Bennett and K9 Tyson:  two awards for obedience and criminal apprehension.
