Patterson is a four-star recruit per 24/7 Sports, and had expressed his intent to attend Ohio State in July. He de-committed from the school around the time of the controversy and suspension of Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer.
“What was going on with Ohio State for a little bit [played a role in the decision]…Coach Meyer was a huge part for me,” Patterson told Home Page reporter Russell Vannozzi in August. “So, I just kind of need to take a step back and reevaluate some things.”
He was also received offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn and Cincinnati before deciding on Clemson.
After his season ends with CPA, he will join the roster for the Polynesian Bowl in Honolulu set for January 2019.
