Hiking can be a great way to get some exercise and see some incredible sights, but, just like nature itself, can also be unpredictable.
So rather than take a chance on your next wilderness venture, stop by the Longview Recreation Center at 6 p.m.today for Greg Bearden’s “Survival in the Woods” class.
When he isn’t working in real estate with the Bearden Group of Keller Williams, Bearden is often hiking on trails all over Middle Tennessee, and has picked up a few tips and tricks over the years.
The Survival in the Woods class will see Bearden break down ten essential items to bring on those long hiking trips just in the case of an emergency. Bearden will also outline what to do in such a case, and how to see that you eventually make it home safely.
A hiker for years, Beaden holds regular walks most Friday mornings around the Rippavilla Plantation, and also holds regular classes at the Longview Rec Center. One of his previous classes saw Bearden give the scoop on all the best local trails, of which there are plenty right around Spring Hill.
The class is free to attend, and will begin at 6 p.m. at the Longview Recreation Center, located at 2909 Commonwealth Drive in Spring Hill.
