Spring Hill’s first ever Blues & Jazz Festival at the Rippavilla saw over 300 attendees on Saturday, and featured the smooth stylings of JD Wood, the Rock House Blues Band, Damien Boggs, and the Rhythm 4 U Jazz Band.
Spread across the plantation’s grounds on benches, lawn chairs and picnic blankets, guests of all ages came to enjoy an afternoon of music, food and drink at the historic plantation.
“It went really well,” said Rippavilla Plantation board member Greg Beardon. “We had a large crowd, the food trucks have been a great hit. It has been a good mixture of blues and jazz, and the audience is really into it.”
Beardon said he was pleased with the turnout, and that it looks like the Blues & Jazz festival is on track to become a regular tradition in Spring Hill.
