Two of Spring Hill’s biggest public art events, Pickin’ in the Park and the Spring Hill Art Walk, will once again coincide next Saturday.
Pickin’ in the Park, the city’s monthly music event that runs throughout the summer, is slated to conclude its 2016 season at this year’s Spring Hill Art Walk.
Last year’s first annual Spring Hill Art Walk partnered with Pickin’ in the Park to provide locals with the opportunity to enjoy both visual and musical art at one event.
Pickin’ in the Park will be held next Saturday, Sept. 17, on the front lawn of Ferguson Hall, near the Tennessee Children’s Home, instead of its normal venue at Harvey Park.
Ferguson Hall is the final stop on the Art Walk route, where more than 20 artists will be showing artwork in businesses and churches along Main Street. The walk begins at the Spring Hill Arts Center’s gallery on School Street and proceeds along Main Street to the front lawn of Ferguson Hall.
Now in its fourth year, Pickin’ in the Park has featured Americana, folk-style solo and duo acts on the third Saturday of each month all summer.
The lineup for the free live music event has not yet been announced, although more information and updates can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/SpringHillPickinInThePark.
The music is slated toward the end of the Art Walk, which runs from 3-8 p.m. on Sept. 17. Typically, the music at Pickin’ in the Park runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Various businesses and churches along Main Street have signed on to display artwork for the Art Walk along the event route from 3-8 p.m. next Saturday.
