Metro Nashville Police arrested a suspect, 29 year-old Kirst Geary, in connection with the Monday night fatal stabbing of Spring Hill resident 24 year-old Ashley Yarbrough in Nashville.
At 11:50 p.m. Monday night, Metro Police received a call from Geary regarding Yarbrough’s injuries. Yarbrough was then discovered at the bottom of a stairwell at a condominium in Nashville, and was immediately transported to Skyline Medical Center, where she later died of her injuries.
Police later discovered that Geary had had an altercation with Yarbrough that same night, though Geary had denied having stabbed Yarbrough to police.
Late Tuesday night, Madison Precinct detectives issued a warrant against Geary, charging her with criminal homicide.
“The warrant was issued last night, and we wanted to try to find her initially before she knew she was being sought,” said Don Aaron with the Nashville Police Department.
Geary was arrested Wednesday at 12:48 p.m., without incident, at an apartment complex in South Nashville, just outside of Antioch.
Geary will face charges of criminal homicide, and is currently being held at the Hill Detention Center in Nashville.
