Ramsey Solutions broke ground on its new corporate headquarters in Franklin on Thursday, hosting a ceremony lead by CEO Dave Ramsey and Gov. Bill Haslam.
Knoxville-native Ramsey, known for his nationally syndicated financial advice radio show, courses, and media, closed on the Berry Farm property in 2015. According to Ramsey, there’s no other place he’d rather build.
“Government and elected officials don’t create jobs, people and businesses willing to spend money do,” Ramsey said. “It would’ve broken my heart to have to build this somewhere else … But, a lot of why this state is great is the elected officials including Gov. Bill Haslam.”
The City of Franklin and Williamson County will both provide tax reductions for Ramsey Solutions in support of the jobs creation. The company will hire nearly 400 team members by 2023 and again by 2028 to maintain these reductions.
Haslam, friend of Ramsey and his wife Sharon, said the $50 million dollar, 200,000 square foot project will benefit the state by keeping Ramsey local.
“Jobs come from people putting capital at risk,” Haslam said. “We appreciate it, Dave but we also appreciate it because you model out what we want Tennessee to be.”
Ramsey Solutions plans to add 175 team members in the next year in technology, sales, marketing and administrative support.
