After months of offers from notable schools and a big decision, junior Ravenwood offensive tackle Graham Barton has decided to head east for his collegiate career.
Barton announced on Twitter Wednesday afternoon his intent to sign with Duke.
“Playing college football has been a dream of mine since I was a little kid,” Barton said in his statement. “After a very long process, going on numerous visits, talks with God, talks with my family and friends, late nights wondering where I’m going to go, I finally found home.
“Truly blessed to say I’m committed to Duke University!!!”
24/7 Sports rated Barton as a three-star recruit, and said he had offers from Vanderbilt, Virginia, Boston College, Missouri, Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Purdue, Washington State, Virginia Tech and others.
Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Lucas Patrick was a Duke player who attended Brentwood High School. He congratulated Barton on his decision.
Barton will return to Ravenwood this fall to complete his senior season. The Raptors finished in the semis of the 6A playoffs.
He’ll head to Duke to join the Blue Devils in the fall of 2020.
