Whether you’re excited for an egg-cellent weekend, or just don’t carrot all, Spring Hill and Thompson’s Station can at least keep you busy this weekend with plenty of fun-filled events.
Easter is next week, but this weekend there will be underwater egg hunts to a free performance of the Wizard of Oz, here’s a breakdown of five awesome events to keep you hoppin’ all weekend long.
Just keep an eye on the weather outlook for Sunday: Friday forecasts say rain is likely.
Easter Egg Dive at Longview
Where: Longview Recreation Center, 2909 Commonwealth Drive, Spring Hill, TN 37174
When: Sunday, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Those looking for a little twist on the traditional egg hunt this Easter are in luck, as the Longview Recreation Center will be hosting its fourth annual Easter Egg Dive this Sunday.
At $5 per child, the event will see children jump, splash and swim for underwater eggs, with Longview Recreation staff awarding prizes for collected eggs. In between rounds of underwater egg hunting, kids will also have the opportunity to get their picture taken with the one and only Easter Bunny – provided parents remember to bring their cameras or smartphones. Parents are also asked to bring an Easter basket to store their eggs.

Melissa Higgins Mini Golf Tournament and Fundraiser
Where: Cameron Farms Pool, Iroquois Drive, Thompson’s Station, TN 37179
When: Sunday, 1 – 5 p.m.
Like mini golf? Well this weekend will provide the opportunity to sink a few holes, all the while helping a great cause with the Melissa Higgins Mini Golf Tournament and Fundraiser this Sunday.
Organized by longtime Thompson’s Station resident Deborah Hornbeck, all of the proceeds for the mini golf tournament will go towards Hornbeck’s sister, Melissa Higgins, who is currently in stage 4 COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) and is hopeful of receiving a lung transplant.
Tickets are $25 per person, and $5 for children in 5th grade and under. Tickets may be purchased online by clicking here.
The Wizard of Oz: A Live Performance
Where: Spring Hill Public Library, 144 Kedron Parkway, Spring Hill, TN 37174
When: Saturday, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! If you’ve got a pair of red ruby slippers at home, you’ll certainly want to bring them on down to a live performance of The Wizard of Oz on Saturday at the Spring Hill Public Library.
Based on Frank Baum’s classic tale, the play is free to attend, and will be performed by the Hampstead Stage Company, a nationally touring theater organization with more than 30 years of experience.
Pretty Super Saturday
Where: Primrose School of Spring Hill, 3090 Campbell Station Parkway, Spring Hill, TN 37174
When: Saturday, 9 – 11 a.m.
For children who’ve always wanted to meet their favorite Disney characters, super heroes, or even the iconic plumbers Mario and Luigi, parents might want to consider visiting the Pretty Super Saturday event, held by the Primrose School of Spring Hill.
“It’s a character breakfast,” said Chrissie Smith, assistant director at the Primrose School of Spring Hill. “Our teachers are dressing up as a few Disney characters, we’re going to have Cat in the Hat, some princesses, Mario and Luigi… just some different ones. It’s definitely geared towards the kids, so anywhere from ages 2 – 6.”
Breakfast served at the event includes many of the morning staples, such as eggs, sausage, coffee and fruit.
For the kids, the event will also see the school organize games, hand out prizes, as well as give children the chance to custom design their own mask based on some of their favorite fictional characters.
Tickets are $30 for up to four people, which also includes a professionally taken and printed photo. Parents are also welcome to snap photos themselves for free. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the school, or at the door, with either cash or check.
Fourth Annual Free Shred Day
Where: DeBerry Insurance, 5232 Main Street, Spring Hill, TN 37174
When: Saturday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
For Spring Hill residents who find themselves in the need to both shred documents as well as help the needy by supporting The Well Outreach’s food drive, DeBerry Insurance has got you covered with its 4th annual free Shred Day.
The Shred-It Truck will provide a secure and convenient way to properly discard of identifying papers. Documents are shredded on site. No pre-registration is needed to participate. Anyone with documents or papers to shred is welcome to come by during the event to drop them off.
During the Shred Day event, DeBerry Insurance Agency will also be collecting food donations for The Well Outreach. The agency has collected several hundred pounds of food for The Well as part of their annual Free Shred Day event. Food donations are not required for participation in the Shred Day event.
