Temperatures this weekend are expected to be rather cool, fluctuating between the 20s and 40s until Monday, but thankfully, there’s plenty of fun happenings going on this weekend indoors!
From the annual Amethyst Affair featuring music and auctions, to a beach getaway with wine and snacks at Salted Peace, keep warm – and entertained – this weekend with these five fun events around Spring Hill.
Where: UAW Local 1853, 125 Stephen P Yokich Parkway, Spring Hill, TN 37174
When: Saturday, 6 p.m.
The fifth annual Amethyst Affair, a fundraising event benefiting domestic violence shelters, is set to begin 6 p.m. this Saturday at the UAW Hall in Spring Hill.
Organized by the Spring Hill chapter of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), the event will feature live and silent auctions, music and dancing, and activities focused on raising awareness of the effects of domestic violence.
The event is themed as a masquerade ball where the guests may wear masks, symbolizing the “pain [that] is often hidden among the many masks that victims wear to hide the emotional and physical turmoil they experience,” writes the GFWC.
The auction will feature a multitude of items, such as a weekend getaway at a lake vacation home in Winchester, tickets to the Atlanta Braves opening game, and handcrafted home decor pieces and jewelry. Also up for auction will be a 9.10 carat amethyst and 14k gold necklace, valued at $735.
Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the both the Center of Hope and Bridges Domestic Violence Shelters, which help victims of domestic violence through a healing process that includes intervention, education and case management.
Tickets for the event are $50, or $20 for members of the Spring Hill chapter of the GFWC, also known as the Spring Station’s Women’s Club. Upon purchasing your ticket, guests will be able to reserve a specific table or seat online. Tickets may be purchased by clicking here.

Vice Mayor of Thompson’s Station Brian Stover has launched a regular community outreach event named “Breakfast with BOMA,” in which a singular town official will routinely sit down with any resident that would like to talk about concerns or comments regarding the town in a casual setting.
“It’s just an open table forum for residents to get to meet their BOMA representatives and talk about the town, where the future’s going [and] their concerns,” Stover said. “There’s no agenda – it could last 30 minutes, it could last three hours, you never know.”
Even if you have nothing of importance to say, you could always go for the free coffee!
