Spring Hill police are investigating an incident in which multiple shots were fired inside a home on the 3000 block of Romain Trail, just off of Duplex Road and east of Main Street. Police say two people were present in the home during the incident, with no injuries reported.

Police received calls from neighbors reporting gunshots shortly after 12 a.m. Friday morning, but were unable to locate the suspect. Neighbors reported hearing five gunshots, however, police were only able to recover evidence of three rounds being fired, according to Spring Hill detective Michael Foster.

“At this point,” Foster wrote, “we believe the home occupant was targeted vs. this being a random act.”

Police are asking residents of Romain Trail, more specifically those living on the 3000 block, to review any home video surveillance footage they may have between 12 and 12:45 a.m. on Friday, December 21, and to contact police if they believe the footage may be of value.

Those with information are asked to contact Spring Hill police by calling (931) 486-3269, or to leave an anonymous tip by clicking here.
