SOFTBALL: Summit takes district, region semis, BGA advances, GCA exits tourney

Below are softball updates from the recent days of district and region games. 

Summit softball takes district, region semis

The Summit High School softball team is continuing its strong post-season run.

The Lady Spartans topped Dickson Co. Saturday to take the 11-AAA district crown, and repeated that success Monday night in a 15-0 drubbing of Overton to advance to the region finals.

The team will once again face Dickson Co. Wednesday night at home at 6:30 p.m. for the region title ahead of their substate game Friday.

Battle Ground Academy keeps season alive in USJ win

The BGA Lady Wildcats moved on in the region tournament Monday night with a 10-4 victory against University School of Jackson.

They survived a three-run fifth inning to hold on to the victory and advance to a road region finals round against The King’s Academy this weekend.

Brentwood Academy to face Briarcrest on road in region finals 

After a weekend off, the BA Lady Eagles will get into the region finals.

They’ll face Briarcrest on the road Friday for a series.

Grace Christian Academy sees season end 

The GCA Lady Lions dropped a 15-0 contest to Moore Co. in the Class A region semifinals Monday night.
