Spring Hill Alderman Chad Whittenburg announced during the November meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen that the December voting meeting on December 17 would be his last.
Whittenburg had previously announced that he would not seek reelection back in July, though his announcement of resigning in December predates his full term, which would have seen him serve until April of 2019.
“I’m moving out of the ward, so you have to give up your seat as soon as you move out,” Whittenburg said as to why he was stepping down before the end of his term. “December will be the last meeting.”
Whittenburg said he will have further comments on both his resignation and his time serving the city during the December 17 city meeting.
Whittenburg has served as an Alderman for Spring Hill since 2011, and had previously said that he looks forward to “continuing to serve Spring Hill as a citizen and on various committees in the future.”
Whittenburg’s final meeting as Alderman will take place at Spring Hill City Hall, located at 199 Town Center Parkway, Spring Hill, TN 37174.
