The big event four times a year for the Spring Hill Public Library is coming again.
The library will host its regular book sale next Saturday, April 29. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and people will probably be standing outside, said Wendy Lord, president of the Friends of the Spring Hill Library.
“They’re usually lined up waiting to get in,” she said.
The library hosts book sales January, April, July and October, said Dana Juriew, the library’s assistant director.
She said the library always likes donations.
“We’re always taking donations,” she said. “All year long.”
But, the book sale is a big one. Lord said the fundraisers average $1,000 to $2,000 a sale in donations received. That’s selling books for 50 cents or a dollar.
“That’s a lot of books,” she said.
Lord said the book sales date back 10 years or more and are the main source of fundraising.
Things that have been funded in the past by the sale include adult and children programs, software updates and furniture, Lord said.
