Boombozz Craft Pizza in Spring Hill will be hosting a fundraiser on Thursday, July 12 benefiting the Unchained Movement, a non-profit organization that combats domestic sex trafficking.
The event will last from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with 20 percent of all bills going towards Unchained Movement’s programs. Visitors are just asked to present the event flyer to the restaurant, either printed out or on a mobile phone.
Roughly 94 teens are trafficked every month, according to Unchained Movement.
Unchained Movement has 3 main pillars it uses to combat sex trafficking: prevent, equip and restore.
Prevention focuses on community awareness by means of public events, media production and educational programs. Equipment deals with actually equipping law enforcement and community members with the tools they need to identify and stop sex trafficking. And lastly, restoration involves Unchained Movement’s rehabilitation programs for victims of abuse, from ages 18 – 24.
Unchained Movement was founded 2011 in Arizona by Rachel Irby, who had previously worked with law enforcement to provide safe housing for victims of sex trafficking since 2008. Seeing a greater need for victims of sex trafficking, Irby created Unchained Movement, though it wasn’t until 2013 that the organization relocated to Spring Hill, Tennessee.
BoomBozz Craft Pizza is located at 2044 Crossing Boulevard, and will be hosting a second fundraiser for Unchained Movement on July 26.
