The Spring Hill Police Department and Fire Department are sending trained personnel to help with rescue efforts in Houston after it was hit by Hurricane Harvey.
Harvey, a stage four hurricane, hit Houston late last week and has left thousands of residents displaced and several dead.
With thousands more unaccounted for, eight members of the two Spring Hill Departments are heading to Houston to pitch in.
All eight of the personnel going, six from the fire department and two from the police department, are swiftwater rescue certified technicians according to a post by the Spring Hill Fire Department.
“Glad to be providing officers and fire service personnel to assist flood victims in Texas,” the Spring Hill Police Department posted on their Facebook page.
