The Spring Hill High Raiders are outfitted and ready to tackle the upcoming 2014 football season.

The team is being coached by Tom Turchetta, a fairly recent addition to the team with an extensive coaching resume.

With an important season approaching, proper equipment has been on everyone’s mind. Fundraising events are essential to the process of purchasing equipment to make a successful football season. From practice uniforms to football cleats, it takes a lot to keep the team outfitted.

In the past two years, the team has engaged in three fundraising events, aiding in the purchase of these items. Shoulder pads were a focus last year, and funds raised were allocated to this purchase.

The Raiderbackers, a booster club specifically for the football program, has also been a huge help, Turchetta said.

“Our Raiderbacker support group is always on the lookout for financial support from businesses and individuals in the Spring Hill community with a return for this support in the form of advertising during games over the PA system,†Turchetta said.

“Any interested person, group or business interested in this type of sponsorship may contact me at the high school most any day of the year,†he added.

With the proper funding for equipment, the 2014 season could be an exciting one for the Spring Hill High Raiders.

“With the increasing cost of all types of football equipment, it is imperative that we work very hard to produce quality football teams that will attract fans to our game on Friday nights,†Turchetta said.
