Spring Hill’s brush and limb collection service, which normally sees Public Works collect brush every Tuesday, will do an additional pickup day Saturday due to the severe thunderstorm Wednesday, which left many residents with numerous fallen tree limbs.

To have brush and limbs picked up by public works, residents must have their debris placed on the curb by 6 a.m. Saturday. Limbs and branches are also required to be cut at 10 feet or less in length.

The city’s brush collection service sees one truck run a route on the south side of the city – south of Duplex Road – with a second truck running a route on the north side of the city. City officials say debris pickup could take several weeks to fully complete due to the excess amount of brush and limbs due to Wednesday’s storm.

The service requires no request form, only that the debris are placed at the curb at the appropriate time and meet the required lengths of 10 feet long or less. The normal brush and limb collection day on Tuesday will continue, with debris needing to be placed on the curb by 6:30 a.m. instead.
