You didn’t think we’d forget about him, did you?

He’s been the leader of the Summit Spartans all season long, but versatile running back George Odimegwu earns his first Home Page Player of the Week honors for his stellar night out in Cool Springs Friday.

Odimegwu powered the Spartans to a 28-7 victory with his 176 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns.

He’s been doing this all season, and can get you between the tackles and in the air on a screen pass or toss from QB Destin Wade.

You could tell all the way back in August that the junior Spartan was poised to have a big year for Summit, and Odimegwu has not disappointed.

The team is 5-4 right now and looks November bound. A 6-4 record is easily obtainable with a trip out to Lincoln County on Oct. 26 to close the regular season. If they make a run this fall, you can look for number 23 as the driving force as to why.

He’s been one of the best all-around football players in Williamson County this year and is absolutely deserving of our Home Page Player of the Week honors.

Honorable Mentions:

Independence QB Ethan Cash is continuing his hot streak, as he threw for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns in the Eagles’ Homecoming win against Dickson County. The county’s most dangerous receiving duo, T.J. Sheffield and Isaiah Collier, had 166 and 178 yards and two touchdowns a piece, respectively.

CPA’s offense had 55 points in total in their big win over rival Goodpasture, with QB Ryan Eledge, Kane Patterson and Noah Henderson leading the way for the Lions.
