The third annual Dancing Through the Decades charity dance-off will be held this Friday from 6 – 11 p.m. at the UAW Hall in Spring Hill. Tickets are $15, and may be purchased either at the door or in advance.

Organized by the Spring Hill Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by Morning Pointe of Spring Hill and TriStar Spring Hill ER, the annual celebration will see guests dancing to music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Decade-appropriate attire is not required, but may help smooth over the judges when they crown a Dance King and Queen at the end of the night.

The event will feature music from DJ “Hey Mr DJ,” as well as live music courtesy of “Smooth Vinyl,” a cover band from Columbia. A Sack Auction will also be held during the event.

No dance-off would ever be complete without food to help fuel the groove, and for that, Dancing Through the Decades has got things covered. The event will feature a buffet including things like dips and cheeses, fruits and sundaes, with the drinks department offering beer, wine and soft drinks.

While last year’s Dancing Through the Decades saw proceeds go towards supporting Pet Pals of Maury County, this year’s event will 100 percent of the proceeds go towards supporting the Friends of Spring Hill Late Bloomers Community Garden, a community garden established in 2017 that provides shared spaces for people of all ages to teach and practice sustainable gardening.
