The planned construction of traffic signals on the on and off ramps of Saturn Parkway and Port Royal Road have now been pushed further back into 2019, according to a statement put out by the city of Spring Hill.
TDOT has scheduled the bid letting date for the project for February of next year. Bid letting is the process by which construction projects are put up to be bid on by construction companies, ensuring competitive costs and good quality of work.
The project so far has seen numerous delays, with TDOT community relations officer Heather Jensen saying in 2015 that the “project could be let to construction in the fourth quarter of 2016.”
During this waiting period, TDOT plans to finalize construction plans.
Many Spring Hill residents took to social media to voice their thanks and frustrations over the announcement.
