Franklin has been recognized by former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager on NBC’s The Today Show as a country Christmas destination.
On an annual installment of The Today Show called “Jenna’s County Christmas,” Bush Hager met up with country music star Trisha Yearwood to explore Franklin.
Yearwood, who recently performed in Nashville with husband Garth Brooks, is a former Brentwood resident.
Yearwood unwrapped ugly Christmas sweaters with Bush Hager in Franklin’s Holly Trolley, shopped for ornaments at The Heirloom Shop, visited with Holly Williams at White’s Mercantile, and tasted fudge at Kilwins.
Bush Hager talked with Yearwood about her concerts with Brooks (“It’s a love fest,” said Yearwood), their 2016 Christmas duet album, and her holiday advice.
“What I love about Christmas is, you get the chance to be your best self,” Yearwood said. “I encourage everybody at the holidays to just be a little more patient, look people in the eye on the street, say merry Christmas, happy holidays; whatever you say means I love you, so just say it.”
