Last months 3rd annual Voices for Children fundraiser raised more than $100,000 for Williamson County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). The money will serve the organizations mission to find safe and permanent homes for abused and neglected children in the court system.
The fundraiser, sponsored by Jackson and CLARCOR, brought in $108,528 through ticket sales, corporate sponsorships and auction proceeds with $94,000 going straight towards program support – a 40 percent increase from last years event. It is the organizations biggest fundraiser of the year.
We are thrilled that the community responded in such a way that we broke the $100,000 barrier. Thats amazing, said Danielle McMorran, Williamson County CASA Director of Public Relations and Development. Each contribution we receive goes to CASAs vision of providing every abused and neglected child a safe and permanent home – which directly affects this communitys future.
The non-profit organizations yearly Voices for Children benefit on May 21 featured an evening with the Music City Hit-Makers, a where song meets symphony music event with Nashville songwriters Brett James, Jessi Alexander and Kyle Jacobs. ACM Award-winner Charles Judge arranged performances so that eight Nashville Studio Symphony musicians accompanied each song.
Participants kicked the evening off at a cocktail hour, with food and drink provided by Strategic Hospitality, American Born Moonshine, and Kevin and Sam Foley. A silent auction, as well as a live auction held prior to the musical performance, also contributed to raised monies.
The non-profit says its 40 percent increase from last year is due in large part to its 2014 sponsors, including: Jackson, CLARCOR, First Bank, Coyne Oral Surgery, Dura Automotive, Barlow Builders, First Farmers and Merchants, PwC, C.B. Ragland, Ernst & Young, Bob Parks, Regions, Animalia Health and Wellness, Daugherty, Haas, & Associates, Franklin Synergy Bank, Grand Avenue, and Walter Wallace.
