WCS Superintendent Looney to speak at Chamber event Friday

At the Williamson Chamber’s First Friday event on Aug. 1, Williamson County Schools Superintendent Mike Looney will speak to how the community can partner with the school district.

At the Williamson Chambers First Friday event on Aug. 1, Williamson County Schools Superintendent Mike Looney will speak to how the community can partner with the school district.

The event is free to chamber members and guests, and will be held from 7:30-9 a.m. at E|SPACES, a work and meeting space located at 1550 W. McEwen Drive, Suite 300 in Franklin.

Looney, who came to Williamson County Schools in December 2009, was previously superintendent of Butler County Schools and assistant superintendent of Montgomery Public Schools and Calhoun County Schools.

His experience also includes work as a school principal, assistant principal and classroom educator.

Williamson County Schools grant writer, Deb Enright, will also be a guest speaker at the chamber event.

Enright works to secure alternative funding sources for the school district through grants and community and business partnerships, as well as trains WCS faculty and PTO in those areas.

She also designed the WCS Ambassador program, implemented the WCS online Invest Now donation program and hosts WC-TV Channel 3s Money Matters program.

Enright serves on the Chamber Education Committee.
