The Westhaven community in West Franklin continues their Sunday Night Singer Songwriter Series this fall, featuring new area up-and-comers to the Nashville music scene, along with tried and true Nashville music veterans.
The Songwriter Series continues this weekend with Josh Wright and Kolby Koloff on Oct. 9.
Wright ventured to Nashville from Celeste, Texas, a town of less than 800 people. Introduced and mentored in music by his father Richard, Josh arrived in Nashville to attend Belmont University, which found him featured in multiple showcases, including a successful run on Fox’s “American Idol.”
Koloff will perform with Josh Wright for the night’s intimate session. Koloff performs a Christian pop-style of worship music, which defined a new sound. Her 2015 single “Grow” was her entrant Billboard Magazine song. Her smooth, unique voice blends a style similar to Adele mixed with Natalie Merchant on the side.
October’s second show will take place on Sunday, Oct, 23 and will feature the sounds of Jimmy Roberts and Sarah Vienna.
Roberts, a Nashville native songwriter has over 100 singles cuts to his name in the past few years. He has nine top 10 hits and six number one’s, including “It Goes Like This,” recorded by Thomas Rhett. Jimmy has co-written with the likes of Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, and many others.
Sarah Vienna will join Roberts, bringing her unique styles of pop sounds with the heartbeat of a country ballad, and will share life experiences through her musical blend. Vienna, the youngest of seven children, was raised in California, before venturing to Nashville and 12 years ago cofounded Firm Foundations of Romania; a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of children in Romania.
The shows take place in The Westhaven Residents’ Club from 6 – 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive early.
