The Williamson County Business PAC on Monday endorsed incumbents for state Senate and House, according to the PAC Facebook page.
“As early voting approaches, the Williamson Business PAC is pleased to endorse Representatives Glen Casada and Sam Whitson for Districts 63 and 65, respectively,” according to the post. “Both leaders have demonstrated a commitment to Williamson County, its residents and its business interests.
“We are also pleased to endorse Senator Jack Johnson to continue as State Senator for District 23. Senator Johnson has provided strong leadership in the Tennessee State Senate on state-wide issues, and has advocated effectively for Williamson County issues.”
This past June the group endorsed state Sen. Mark Green for the 7th Congressional District seat now held by Rep. Marsha Blackburn.
Williamson County Business PAC describes itself as a nonpartisan voice and trusted resource for our community focused candidates, issues and policies driving long term prosperity in Williamson county. The group was formed within Williamson, Inc., the county Chamber of Commerce, but reduced its ties to the chamber in 2016 following concerns that the political action committee could conflict with the Chamber’s role in economic development, which is partially funded by county government.
The PAC’s current chairman is attorney Bryan Echols of Thompson Burton, vice chairman is entrepreneur Mark Cleveland of Hytch Rewards.
